- Energy dissipation - Achieved through the internal mechanism which decreases lanyard weight and servicing costs, and increases user comfort as no in-lanyard energy absorption device is required.
- Dyneema Lanyard - Strongest synthetic fibre in existence. Superior strength to weight ratio. Compact fibres and low friction coefficient minimise snagging, knotting and wear. Water and chemical resistant. UV stable. Length: 2 – 6.5 metres (6’5” – 21’). Weight: 120g (4.23oz). Tensile strength: 22kN.
- Outer housing and mount - Composite reinforced engineering thermoplastic. Lightweight and strong. UV stabilised and chemical resistant.
- Internal components - Corrosion and chemical resistance achieved through the use of composite thermoplastics and marine-grade stainless steel.
- Retraction spring - Silicon-lubricated stainless steel in water-tight enclosure.
- Servicing and maintenance - Designed for prolonged usage in hostile environments with minimal maintenance. Includes overload indicator and easy on-site lanyard change out.
- Low toxicity flammability rating - Tested to UL 94 V-0.
Mounting Options:
The Barnacle system has four mounting options:
- Flat mount on any of four faces
- Flush mount through deck wall or ceiling
- Optional rotating base for post-mounted applications
- Attachment eye for connecting to overhead safety lines/rails, etc.
